AIA does GAME DAY!

In true Golden Bear form, AIA kicked off the football season in style by donning Cal gear, throwing some dogs and burgers on the grill (or technically stove), and hanging out before rooting on our fellow athletes and friends!  It was a great time hanging out and prepping ourselves (and our stomachs) for what would turn out to be an awesome season opener for the California football team.

Jesus in Berkeley

Last night AIA made an appearance at the annual “Jesus in Berkeley” event held by New Church Berkeley. The event took place in Wheeler Auditorium at 7:30 PM, which started off with a set of musical worship consisting of different worship leaders from various different campus ministries. Next were featured two speakers including a Cal professor expressing the presence of Christian spirituality within the faculty. To follow, the second speaker was an all too familiar face, Daniel Curren.

Dan gave a talk on the presence of Christ and His followers on campus, which highlighted the points of Jesus’ plans for us on our campus long before we got here. Dan preached “Protect and Project”. That the Lord would not only protect us here at Cal spiritually and physically, but project us out into the world.
Following Dan’s talk, everyone filed out into the lobby of Wheeler to see what different campus ministries had to offer. The AIA booth was definitely present and met with several students to share our mission and values. We also featured our new website on two computers, which caught the eye of a few onlookers, and also played a slideshow of different AIA members and events over the years.

“Jesus in Berkeley” is always great reminder that Christ is not only working through AIA on campus, but through tons of other ministry outlets and that when united, the Body of Christ is at its strongest.
